Sarah Curran started her dance journey at the tender age of 11 training regularly in musical theatre, jazz ballet, contemporary, hip hop and classical ballet. At 17, was delighted to represent Ireland in “Dance Excellence” in Los Angeles.
Sarah has performed as a Dancer in various shows on Stage and on TV including RTE’s ‘All Ireland Talent Show’, ‘Who Are You Kidding?’ and TG4’s Glas Vegas as well as performing in many shows nationwide in venues including the INEC Killarney, The Olympia Theatre and The Rose of Tralee Festival.
Sarah was offered places in the College of Dance Monkstown, as well as Inchicore College’s Dance course, but turned both down to study journalism in DCU. She continued her dance career taking part in DCU’s Hip Hop, Lyrical and Jazz competition teams and made such a great impression, that she took over as choreographer of DCU’s Jazz Team from 2013-2015, during which time the team received two national awards.
Sarah’s Musical Theatre choreography experience includes: DCU’s 2014 musical ’Cabaret’, 2015 musical ‘Spring Awakening’ and 2016 musical ‘American Idiot’; Original Irish musical ‘Big Shot’ in O’Reilly Theatre, Liberty Hall, as well as at the 2015 San Diego International Fringe Festival and Tijuana Fringe Festival in Mexico, plus numerous competitions and shows with Talented Kids Performing Arts School & MVW Talent Agency including her Clondalkin Kids Dance group making it to the 2016 finals of the National “Billy Elliot Dance Competition” which was held at the Bord Gais Theatre.
In 2017 Sarah performed in Leixlip Musical and Variety Group’s ‘Legally Blonde’ which was awarded best choreography and best overall show at AIMS. Sarah has also done a lot of commercial dance work for companies such as Drink Aware, Captain Americas and Cadburys.
She was also the featured dancer in Eoin Boyle’s ‘Tear Out This Heartache’ music video:
and choreographed Susie Power’s ‘Popsicle’ music performance which made it to the TG4 televised Junior Eurovision rounds:
Sarah still regularly takes classes herself at professional level to ensure that both she and her students are receiving the highest and current standards of training in the industry.
Sarah has been teaching for Talented Kids Performing Arts school and MVW Talent Agency since September 2014 and has thoroughly enjoyed choreographing and preparing the students for shows, competitions, workshops etc but is most proud of how well her students have progressed over the last few years.
